Being Transgender…test by God or mental illness?

People that are transgender like to say that God made them what they are…that they’re being tested. Yet, they get transgender surgery to make themselves look like the opposite sex.
Such as to say that God only made a mistake with the physical part of them (their body), NOT the inside when it comes to their feelings.

So here is the question: In your opinion, is being transgender a test by God or is it just a mental illness that needs to be addressed?

Post a CommentI like to think of transgender as God putting the right juice in the wrong bottle.
Nicely put *Hypno*
Mental illness. Something has made them hate their body so much they feel the need to completely change it.
I don't like the term mental illness because they are not ill. A natural mistake may have been made during development a (mental mistake) if you will. The mistake is done though they are what they are they are not ill and we need to give them our compassion and understanding for the confusion and emotional chaos that their natural gender assignment vs. society's gender assignment has caused them.
Rather I should say natural assignment vs. physical assignment.
LOL, okay take 3 don't worry folks I'll get this right
gender assignment vs. physical assignment
Woo! See I did it.
I don't think it's either. Definitely not a mental illness! I don't think that transgenders are mentally ill at all.
I think it has to do with the physical chemistry/biology of their body/dna. I don't think they can help how they feel anymore than homosexuals. Not a disease, not a perversion, just a mutation that makes them different.
I also don't think it's either. I think if God's testing anybody, he's testing non-transgendered people to overcome biases against those who are different
I've heard plenty of people call it a mental illness but I'm not sure.
I do think some of them seriously need to speak to a psychiatrist about how they feel, because their actions in public are really shameful. I don't think they way they express themselves in the streets during parades look normal.
I can see where you're coming from too *Jessie* Thanks for dropping by with your comment!
I believe they are born this way and agree with hypno.
I also think it tears at the soul not being able to be who they really feel they are so alot of the time they probably need to see someone to work it all out.
Once again, I agree *Ruby*.
I don't ever want to sound rude when saying it but yes, a lot of the Transgender do need to speak with a doctor to sort out their feelings. They have so much coming at them mentally and physically and at first they are keeping most of that a secret.
Like with most people, Transgenders need someone to talk too that will not judge them by quoting the Bible, talking about their other person experiences, or what the law says about being gay and etc... Transgender people need to speak thoroughly about what they're feeling, so that they can express themselves in the right manner.
And I must admit that I believe expressing themselves the way they do during a colorful parade is not the right way to go, unless there's another reason behind the rainbow parades that I'm missing. What are they all trying to accomplish? If I'm that way or have mixed feelings about who I am, I would not want to do that in front of everyone. I would want to sort myself out first. Again, I don't think that's the first thing they should be thinking about.....expressing who they are before they honestly know everything.
It's like when an atheist wants to talk about their view on life and other things in the world. Atheist doesn't want everyone around them acting like they know God himself, therefore they have the right to judge them as a terrible person because they're an atheist.
I think transgendered people should talk to a professional too, but I don't think they should be made fun of at all.
They shouldn't be physically harmed either. Thanks for dropping by with your comment *Nyrina*
This is my personal opinion. I believe in god very much, but i also do think and realize that god cannot control everything. You may disagree or not but if god could control everything, then how come people get rapped, abused, or people who are born with terrible birth defects. You may think that things happen for a reason but why would god wanna torture people? why would god wanna put people in misery? There are evil forces out there that can cause terrible things to happen. I personally believe that the devil can find ways to put people in problems. The devil will do anything to hurt gods children which is everyone on earth. God can do many things but you have to understand that god cant be there for everyone but he really does try. God gives people tools in order to get through their problems and so they can overcome the obstacles they have and live better lives. The devil and his dark angels and demons can do many awful things to people, but god can help them in the long run
no offense to anyone who disagrees or anything, its
just what I think and so does my mother and father.
It IS a mental illness:
